BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. - Police are canvasing a neighborhood in Brooklyn Park, checking every possible avenue after a 2-month old baby disappeared from an apartment Tuesday morning.
Squads were dispatched to the Moonraker Apartments on 5505 Brookdale Drive North after the child's mother awoke shortly after 6 a.m. and found him gone.
She told officers she had put the baby down on a couch around 1 a.m. and when she came out to check on him at 6 a.m. he was gone.
Deputy Chief Jeff Ankerfelt says there was nothing to suggest forced entry into the apartment. Officers went door to door at every apartment in the complex and also spread out to cover surrounding neighborhoods, but at this point there has been no sign of the baby.
Ankerfelt says time is of the essence, as the child is just two months old and in a vulnerable state.
He describes the baby as half African American and half Native American, wearing a brown onesie with footballs on it.
