MAPLE GROVE, Minn. - Police in Maple Grove are warning residents to be alert after a pair of assaults on women in recent days.

The first incident was reported on June 10, after a female was approached from behind on a trail on the 11500 block of West Eagle Lake Drive. The male suspect touched her inappropriately and then fled.

The second assault happened June 18 on the Rice Lake Trails near Weaver Lake Road and I-494. The female victim was groped by a suspect who then ran away.

Both victims describe the suspect as a male with a darker skin tone between 16 and 19-years-old, 170 pounds with medium length wavy or shaggy hair. They say he has a wide, flat nose and no facial hair. In both cases the suspect ran to a blue bicycle that was located nearby and rode away.

Maple Grove Police are asking residents to be especially aware of their surroundings, especially when they are on remote trails.

Anyone with information on the suspect or the attacks is asked to call Maple Grove Police at 763-494-6199.
