GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - It's not just drivers of cars getting roadside assistance anymore.
Beginning Monday, July 1, AAA Minneapolis rolls out a new service to make sure bicyclists aren't left stranded.
It's called the bicycle roadside service, and AAA's Matt Hehl and Justine Thurston came by KARE 11 Sunrise to talk about the new program.
- Applies to all bicycles and tandems, including rentals and bike trailers
- Only available within the company's service area of Hennepin County
- Must be on an accessible street
- Included as part of triple-A's list of benefits
AAA is also throwing a kick-off event on Saturday, June 29 at their St Louis Park location, Hwy 100 and Excelsior Blvd, from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. The event includes a family 5K ride, great prizes and other fun activities.
