NORTH MANKATO, Minn. - A teen soccer player is being held in the Nicollet County Jail on charges of threatening to stab his former coach with a goal stake.

The jail roster confirms that 18-year-old Nasir Mohamed Abdalla is jailed on charges of making terroristic threats and second degree assault.

The Mankato Free Press reports that Abdalla was thrown off the team in 2012 due to behavior problems, was given a second chance in 2013 but was recently booted off the club again after getting into a fight with an opponent.

The Press reports that the suspect showed up at a game Sunday, was told he couldn't play, and then pulled a foot-long goal stake out of the ground and threatened to stab the coach.

Other players intervened and were able to pull Abdalla away.
