CENTER CITY, Minn. - The body of a 20-year-old man has been recovered from the St. Croix River near Taylors Falls

The body of Alex Vitalis, of Shafer, was found at about 12 p.m. on Tuesday by members of the Stacy Lent Dive Team.

Chisago County Deputies were called to the Franconia Landing on the St. Croix River Monday night after reports that a man jumped from a rock ledge on the Wisconsin side of the river and did not come back up.

The Chisago County Water Patrol and members of the Shafer-Franconia Fire and Rescue Unit launched a search for the missing man but were forced to call off operations around 9:30 p.m. on Monday.

The Taylors Falls Fire and Rescue also responded and aided in the search.

Boats were back on the water with the onset of daylight Tuesday.
