WAUPUN, Wis. -- The Wisconsin Department of Corrections has released a new photo of Aaron Schaffhausen, who was sentenced last week to life in prison without parole.

The mug shot was taken July 17 when Schaffhausen entered the state prison system. He is currently being held at the Dodge Correctional Institution in Waupun, Wis.

The Wisconsin man is serving three consecutive life sentences for the murder of his daughters.

He had pleaded guilty in their deaths, but claimed he was insane at the time of the killings.

A jury disagreed during his trial in April, finding that the 35-year-old Schaffhausen was sane when he slit the throats of 11-year-old Amara, 8-year-old Sophie and 5-year-old Cecilia inside their home in River Falls' home.

The community held a 5k run Saturday to raise money for Tri-Angles Playground in River Falls to honor the the girls' memory.  If you would like to donate, visit www.triangelsrun.com.
