GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Minnesota is on track to see a record number of heroin-related deaths this year.

State officials say the problem has gotten so out of hand it's now a top priority, some even call it an epidemic.

Parents can play a role in bringing those numbers down.

It all starts with talking to your kids about the dangers of drugs.

Carol Falkowski, with Drug Abuse Dialogues, spoke on KARE 11 Sunrise about how to get that conversation started.

Another website Falkowski suggests is drugfree.org.
