ST. CLOUD, Minn. - The names of those involved in a fatal car crash that closed Highway 55 on Tuesday morning have been released by authorities.

Delano Price, 71, and his passenger Lois Price, 80, both of Maple Lake, were killed in the crash at 10:10 a.m. on Hwy. 55 and Dempsey Avenue.

A 2004 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Price was westbound on the highway and attempted a left turn onto Dempsey Avenue in when it was rear-ended by a 2007 Dodge Dakota driven by a 50-year-old Annandale man, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The Grand Am was pushed into eastbound traffic and collided head-on with a 2009 Toyota Corolla. The Grand Am then spun out and collided with a 2008 Lexus ES350.

The driver of the Corolla, a 67-year-old woman from Maple Lake, was taken to North Memorial Medical Center with serious injuries. Tuesday evening she remained hospitalized in critical condition. The driver of the Dakota had no apparent injury and the driver of the Lexus suffered what police say is a non-life threatening injury.
