JOHNSTOWN TOWNSHIP, Wis. - Two men are in custody in connection with the death of a woman following a bar fight in Polk County, Wisconsin early Saturday.
Polk County deputies were called to The Staples Lake Bar in Johnstown Township around 2:30 a.m. on reports of a fight involving injuries. First responders found a number of injured parties, the most serious of which was a woman laying in the parking lot who witnesses said was run over by a vehicle driven by a man fleeing the scene.
The woman, identified as 35-year-old Michelle Lowe of rural Luck, Wisconsin, was rushed to a nearby hospital in Cumberland where she died from her injuries.
Witnesses at the scene were able to record the license plate of the fleeing vehicle, which was traced to a residence in Barron County. There, they arrested two 26-year-old suspects, one who faces charges of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle. The other suspect faces battery charges for causing injuries in the bar fight.
