ROSEVILLE, Minn. - A Ham Lake man says he "ran around his office screaming" after finding out he held one of three winning tickets from Wednesday night's $448 million lottery jackpot.

The Minnesota State Lottery held a 2 p.m. news conference to announce that Paul White from Ham Lake was the Minnesota winner.

Paul White said he's imagined winning the lottery "so many times in my head".

White, a father of two, is a project engineer at Elliott Contracting in Minneapolis.  He told KARE 11 that he bought five lottery tickets Wednesday night.

KARE 11 reporter Dave Berggren happened to sit next to White at lunch on Thursday and got the scoop on the lottery winner before he was officially introduced.

"I remembered the Powerball last night so I went and bought five," said White. He bought the tickets at a Holiday gas station in Ham Lake.

White checked his tickets Thursday morning and realized he was one of the three winners of the $448 million jackpot. He says "it's a whirlwind" and that he's thinking of his family first.

"We're taking our items in order, lot of work to do, but it's very exciting," he said.
