ST. PAUL - St. Paul Police have identified the child whose feet were severed by a train Thursday night.

Marshawn Kenneth Farr-Robinson, age 9, is hospitalized at Gillette Children's Specialty Health Care. His parents have asked that no details be released on his condition.

Police say Marshawn was playing near the tracks by his home at Ivy Avenue West and Farrington Street around 6 p.m. when he apparently slipped and had his feet severed under the wheels of a freight train.

Witnesses say despite his significant injuries the boy managed to crawl from the tracks towards the street before reaching two neighbors who were outside.

"I guess what happened he was trying to climb up on the train and just slipped off and fell and it just ran him over," explained Joe Kubiszewski who was one of the first to the scene.

The incident is considered a terrible accident, and no foul play is suspected.
