MINNEAPOLIS - A woman is dead after being stabbed following an argument early Wednesday in south Minneapolis.
Officers were dispatched to the intersection of 5th Avenue South and East Lake Street shortly after 3 a.m. When squads arrived they found an adult female victim lying in the street.
She was transported to HCMC where she later died from her wounds.
Early information indicates the victim and a female suspect had a verbal altercation that turned physical, ending with the suspect stabbing the victim and fleeing the area. The fatal stabbing does not appear to be a random act.
Homicide investigators are interviewing witnesses at this time and trying to locate the suspect. Anyone with any information is asked to call 612-692-TIPS (8477).
