GRANTSBURG, Wis. - One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 77 in Burnett County early Sunday morning.
Authorities said that the driver was traveling eastbound on Highway 77 near Grantsburg, about five miles south of Danbury, at about 8:30 a.m.
They said the vehicle went off the right side of the road then reentered the highway rolling multiple times. The vehicle landed on its wheels and headed to the left of the highway where it came to rest about 200 yards off of the road in a heavily wooded area.
The vehicle came to a stop and then started on fire. The driver's body was found a short distance from the vehicle, authorities said.
The driver's name is being withheld pending the notification of the family.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
