NORTH HUDSON, Wis. - St. Croix County Sheriff's officials say a motorcyclist died after losing control and striking a tree Sunday morning.
John Hilke, 64, of North Hudson was traveling northbound on Lemon Street. Witnesses told police that Hilke lost control of his motorcycle when it left the roadway and struck a tree on the west side of Lemon St. just after 11 a.m. Hilke was ejected from the motorcycle when it struck the tree.
Hilke was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Croix County Medical Examiner's office.
Hilke was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the St. Croix County Sheriff's Office.
