PRIOR LAKE, Minn. - After several days of sweltering heat, two Prior Lake middle schools are canceling classes on Friday.
The Prior Lake-Savage Area School District says Twin Oaks Middle School has air-conditioning, but many of its students cross the street for classes at Hidden Oaks, a building without air conditioning. As a result, classes are canceled at both schools on Friday.
All other schools in the district will remain open. Air conditioning was restored to WestWood Elementary on Thursday afternoon, and crews will continue to work on the new air conditioning units at Hidden Oaks. The district expects the units to be operational next month.
