MINNEAPOLIS - A 17-year-old male has been arrested in connection with an alleged rape at Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis.
Officers were called to the school on Tuesday just before 11 a.m. by a staff member who told them a 16-year-old female student had come to him and said she had been sexually assaulted by another student.
Police located the 17-year-old suspect and arrested him on probable cause criminal sexual assault-rape. He was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center and processed for the presence of body fluids.
The alleged victim was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center where she was processed with a rape test kit.
"It is an ongoing investigation with the police department and the district is working closely with the police department," Minneapolis Public Schools spokesman Stan Alleyne told KARE 11. " I really can't get into anything because in a situation like this we have to protect the privacy of the students."
Official criminal charges against the teen are pending.
