FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. - The Minnesota State Fair has battled heat for much of the week, but on Saturday night it was lightning from a thunderstorm that interrupted a concert at the grandstand.
About 15,000 people were told to seek shelter as the storm reached the area just after 8 p.m.
Headlining at the grandstand on Saturday was Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, a duo from Seattle, that has emerged as a premier national hip-hop group.
The opening acts were Talib Kweli and Chance the Rapper who took the stage at about 7:30 p.m.
The concert was not cancelled, just delayed. Talib Kweli performed a 30 minute set at 9:15 p.m. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis followed that performance.
