FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. - Sunday's Fair attendance will likely flirt with record numbers according to State Fair officials.
"We will be over 200 thousand," said Brienna Schutte, a fair spokesperson. "I was on the grounds in the morning and have never seen it that busy."
Heat advisories last week likely kept thousands away, in fact, one day didn't even crack the 100 thousand mark.
The cooler temperatures are helping to bring the masses back and that's good news for food vendors.
"Our prayers have been answered," says Pat Mancini, owner of Mancini's at the Fair. "This will help make up for the days we endured out here."
Mancini admits, the hot stretch took a 30 percent bite out of business.
"This is great," he says.
The all-time record for the final Sunday of the fair is 229,000 people. Official numbers will be released Monday.
