SILVER CREEK, Minn. - Traffic is flowing freely again on I-94 near Silver Lake after a semi-truck rollover closed or severely restricted the busy interstate for hours Monday morning.
The incident happened near the exit to County Road 8 near Silver Creek around 6 a.m. The State Patrol websites says the driver of an International semi-truck was injured when he swerved to avoid a dog and rolled in the eastbound lanes.
MnDOT traffic cams showed the wreckage in the median strip between east and westbound lanes.
Troopers responded, closing both an eastbound and westbound lane while tow crews try to right the truck and remove it from the road.
All lanes were closed for a time beginning around 7:40 a.m. so an air ambulance could land and transport the driver of the truck to a hospital.
Backups in both directions were significant as tow crews righted and removed the semi.
