GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn-- David Levitz is living the dream.  That is if your dream is to save money as a college student.

The University of Minnesota journalism and theatre sophomore is taking part in an experiment detailed in The Rented Life.

BookRenter is giving Levitz a $6800 stipend for one semester of college.  Levitz says that's the average amount a college student spends in one semester.  His mission?  To barter, rent or borrow to bring down those costs.

Levitz is documenting his journey through YouTube and other social media to show students how it's done.

He spoke appeared on KARE 11 Sunrise to share his experience.
