CORCORAN, Minn. - School officials say a dozen students were taken to the hospital for treatment after a school bus crash in downtown Corcoran Monday morning.

The bus, carrying 50 children to the Rockford Elementary Arts Magnet School, collided with an SUV at the intersection of County Roads 50 and 10 just after 8 a.m.

Rockford Public Schools Superintendent Paul Durand says a number of children suffered bumps and bruises in the crash. Ambulances from North Memorial Medical Center arrived with ER doctors to do triage and determine if students need further medical attention.

Durand confirms that at least 12 students were transported to North Memorial Hospital in Maple Grove where they were treated and released.

The remaining 37 on the bus were examined and either released to their parents or sent on to school.
