BENSON, Minn. - When there is a contest to win free money, it's a good idea to enter it.
That's what second grade teacher Roger Ebnet told his students at Northside Elementary and anyone who would listen.
His campaign to win "Give with Target's" top prize worked. The little school in the little town of Benson was the first to reach 10,000 votes online earning them $10,000 and a star-studded concert featuring country star Luke Bryan.
"This is the biggest thing ever," Ebnet said.
The win comes on the heels of a $600,000 budget cut last spring. The money will be split between the district's schools and be used for books and technology.
This is the second year in a row for Target's giving campaign. The Minneapolis-based retailer hopes to give $1 billion for education by 2015.
Targets says more than 3,000 people enjoyed the concert on Tuesday night.
