EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - Traffic is moving again on eastbound Highway 212 in Eden Prairie following a fatal crash during Friday morning's rush hour.
The Minnesota State Patrol website says one person is dead and a second is hospitalized with serious injuries after the head-on collision near the Eden Prairie Road ramp.
Investigators say a 62-year-old Eden Prairie man was driving west in a Chevy Malibu when he crossed the median and struck a Jeep SUV head-on. The driver of the Malibu died in the crash. The Jeep rolled, causing serious injuries to the driver, a 26-year-old Eden Prairie man.
Troopers and first responders were on the scene for nearly three hours reconstructing the accident scene and cleaning up the wreckage before Highway 212 was reopened just before 11 a.m.
