ST. PAUL, Minn. - Demonstrators gathered at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at the State Capitol in St. Paul Sunday.
They said they are angry that the partial federal government shutdown has closed war memorials in Washington D.C., keeping veterans from entering.
Many speakers were veterans or family members of vets. Organizers stressed that the demonstration was not a political event, but one in support of America's heroes.
Hundreds of veterans and protesters also gathered in Washington D.C. to show their frustration over the government shutdown, now in its 13th day.
