MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The 9-year-old boy who hopped a flight to Vegas is not allowed to go home to his parents. Instead, he was placed in "out of home care."
He was the center of a child protective services hearing today. Hennepin county officials can't say where he is or who he is with, but they do say he is in a safe place.
Both parents sat in the courtroom quietly during the hearing. A judge ordered the boy to continue therapy. The family will also get therapy and they will be evaluated by the county.
His parents have also been asked to work with his school to get him special education services.
There is another hearing scheduled for next month to see if the boy will be able to return home then.
