MAPLE GROVE, Minn. -- Authorities say they have arrested a suspect wanted in connection to a series of robberies along I-94.
Police say the suspect was taken into custody on Thursday evening at his home in Sartell. They are not releasing his name until he is formally charged.
Police believe the man is responsible for stealing from a number of businesses, most recently a Burger King in Maple Grove.
Maple Grove Police Captain Keith Terlinden says they received a call reporting an armed robbery at the Burger King at 13840 Grove Drive around 6:12 a.m. on Wednesday.
The suspect entered the restaurant carrying a handgun, demanded money, and then locked the two employees in the walk-in cooler.
He then calmly exited the restaurant, hopped in a dark Dodge Durango, possibly a 2005, and drove off.
Terlinden says police believe he is the same man linked to approximately six armed robberies up and down the I-94 Corridor between the Twin Cities and St. Cloud.
At least three of those robberies were at Burger King restaurants in Maple Grove, Monticello and Clearwater. Other targets have included small restaurants and retail outlets.
