HUDSON, Wis. -- A father is dead and four others were injured after police say he drove through a stop sign and was hit by another vehicle.
According to Wisconsin State Patrol, Scott Shoemaker was driving on Old State Highway 35 just after 4 p.m. on Saturday when he failed to stop at a stop sign. That's when another vehicle crashed into his car.
Shoemaker's three children, ages 12, 14 and 16, were passengers in his car at the time of the crash. Police say they sustained serious injuries and were transported to Regions Hospital.
The driver of the other vehicle was also injured. He was taken to Hudson Hospital where he was treated and released.
Police say all occupants were wearing seat belts. The crash is under investigation.
