ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Motorcycle season is over for many riders, and one man likely wishes he had put his two-wheeler in the garage after being arrested Thursday morning.
Minnesota State Patrol spokesman Sgt. Jesse Grabow tells KARE 11 that a trooper clocked the intrepid cyclist doing 115 miles per hour when he met him on Highway 15 near County Road 8 St. Augusta.
The trooper whipped around and began a pursuit, during which time the motorcyclist attempted to turn off on a county road to lose the state patrolman. Eventually he got back on Highway 15 and pulled over.
Grabow says the entire chase lasted about three minutes.
The 20-year-old rider will likely be charged with a felony.
By the way, a call to the National Weather Service office in Chanhassen determined that while his motor was running hot the fleeing motorcyclist was likely a bit chilly. Figuring the temperature in St. Cloud was 32 degrees at 8 a.m. and the man was driving at 115 miles per hour, the wind chill he was feeling was in the neighborhood of 8 degrees fahrenheit.
