MINNEAPOLIS - A new computer animation is giving us a look at how the removal of the Metrodome will be a piecemeal operation.
First, it shows the digging outside of the dome. Then the roof will be deflated and removed. The walls will come down, section by section. The demolition will take about a month or so. Even while it's being demolished the new stadium will begin to take shape.
If all goes according to plan, by August 2016 the nearly billion dollar Minnesota Vikings stadium will be completed just in time for the NFL season. And there is talk of hosting a Super Bowl.
