EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - Minnesota Vikings coach Leslie Frazier says he will decide later this week whether Josh Freeman or Christian Ponder will start at quarterback against Dallas on Sunday.

The Vikings have changed quarterbacks for four consecutive games while looking for some consistency and playmaking at the position.

Frazier said that the coaches will be "trying to look at the whole picture, who will give us the best chance to win from our standpoint as coaches for this Dallas ballgame. That's what it will be based on."

The only one to win a game this season for them is veteran Matt Cassel, who beat Pittsburgh in London three games ago, but Frazier says he believes Freeman or Ponder give the Vikings the best chance to win.

"I don't want to discount Matt, but Christian did some good things in that ballgame (Sunday)," Frazier said. "There are some things that he could obviously do better but that has something to do with it and he has led us to some wins in the past. Josh, we brought him here to evaluate him and determine if he could be a guy that could be a potential player for us in the future. That's what goes into evaluating the both of them."

Freeman was signed earlier this month and started against the New York Giants two weeks ago, but he suffered a concussion and forced Ponder back into the game against Green Bay on Sunday night.

Ponder struggled in a 44-31 loss to the Packers, but Frazier said he found positives in his game.

"I thought he played a little more relaxed and less tense than he did in his previous three starts, seemed to be more composed and in command," Frazier said.

The Vikings expect to make a final decision on a starter for the Dallas game in the next couple of days.
