MINNEAPOLIS - It was a historic soccer game Thursday for St. Paul's Como Park High School.
"This is a first for us," said athletic director Mike Searles. "We've never been here before."
Not just soccer. In the school's 34-year history, Como Park has never been to a state final game, in any sport.
"Win or lose, we head home with the highest trophy we've ever had," said Searles. "This team has really come together."
That could've been difficult. Six different languages are represented on the team.
"We're kind of a tapestry," says Searles. "The team truly represents our community in St. Paul."
The team's first trip was more than memorable. Como Park defeated Hill Murray Thursday 2-1. The Cougars went 19-0-03 this season.
