LOS ANGELES - Three men have set a new record for cross country driving, making it from New York City to Los Angeles in less than 29 hours.
The crew was led by Ed Bolian, a car salesman from Atlanta. They selected a Mercedes Benz CL55, outfitted it with two extra fuel tanks and installed a bunch of electronics to avoid cops and find the shortest route.
They also threw in a bed pan to avoid unnecessary bathroom stops.
USA Today figured the guys averaged 100 mph while driving, allowing them to make the trip in 28 hours and 50 minutes, breaking the old mark of 31:04 by more than two hours.
They also got no speeding tickets.
