Minn. professional boxer accused of domestic abuse

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - A 30-year-old professional boxer from St. Paul has been arrested on domestic abuse charges stemming from an incident in Scottsdale, Ariz. on Nov. 4.

The Scottsdale Police Department said that Jason Litzau grabbed and strangled his ex-girlfriend after punching her numerous times in the face, head and stomach.

Litzau was in Arizona visiting his 4-year-old daughter, according to a criminal complaint.

The complaint said that he was staying with his ex-girlfriend and daughter at their apartment for a few days.

The victim told police that she picked Litzau up from a nearby bar and that they argued about his condition. She got him some food and took him back to the apartment, but as they were walking inside, she said he attacked her.

Litzau's ex-girlfriend was treated at an area hospital.

Litzau faces charges of aggravated assault, assault and disorderly conduct.
