MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnesota Golden Gophers women's hockey team lost 3-2 to North Dakota on Sunday.
The loss snapped the team's remarkable 62-game winning streak.
The streak included an unbeaten season in 2012 in which the team also earned a national championship.
UND got off to a quick start scoring three first-period goals. The Gophers responded with a pair of goals in the second period, but North Dakota held on for the win.
On Saturday, the Gophers extended the streak to 62 games with a 6-1 rout over UND.
The Gophers last lost came on Feb. 17, 2012. It was also against North Dakota, and the loss came in overtime.
