BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - Police have identified the man killed in a single vehicle rollover accident on the Bloomington Ferry Bridge Friday morning.
Steven Whiting, 48, of Shakopee, died in the accident according to the State Patrol accident report.
Police say the incident was reported around 8:30 a.m. Friday, but is believed to have occurred in the early morning hours.
Officials say Whiting was traveling south on Highway 169 when he lost control of the vehicle due to the icy road conditions. The car went over the guardrail and landed on the roof killing Whiting, who was the lone occupant of the car.
The Bloomington Ferry Bridge is a 1.1-mile bridge across the Minnesota River between Bloomington and Shakopee.
