Chambers "Ice Bar" Ginger Margarita

1 part ginger powder

1 part kosher salt

1 lime wedge

1 1/2 oz. Sauza Tres Anejo

1/2 oz. Cointreau

3/4 oz.  Ginger lime base

Mix salt and ginger powder for dusting rim. Fill shaker with ice then tequila, cointreau and ginger lime base. Shake vigorously and pour into glass. Squeeze 1 lime wedge and drop into drink.


Ginger Lime Base

1 quart peeled and sliced ginger

1 quart fresh squeezed lime juice

1 quart sugar


Bring to a boil and puree. Strain, reserve liquid and dry pulp in a 170°F oven. When pulp is dry grind to a powder. Mix powder 50/50 with Kosher salt.

The Ginger Ale is made with the ginger-lime base from above.   12 oz glass filled with ice, add 2 oz ginger base.   Fill with Soda water. Garnish with wedge of lime.
