BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office has released the name of a woman who died when her car hit a bridge pillar on Interstate 35W.

Erin Jean Thomas, 23, of Edina was driving northbound on 35W Sunday night. Authorities say her Honda Fit was traveling at a high rate of speed when it sharply swerved right and then left before hitting a bridge pillar at Interstate 494.

The Minnesota State Patrol says alcohol was detected on Thomas. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Thomas' death caps a deadly weekend on Minnesota roads. Eleven people died in four separate crashes between Friday and Sunday. Seven of the people killed were teenagers.
