GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn.-- Family fun will be the order of the evening at the sixth annual Minnesota Miracle New Year's Eve Celebration, Friday, December 31, at the Hilton MSP Airport Hotel in Bloomington. All proceeds will benefit The Miracles of Mitch Foundation (MOMF). Tickets are still available at www.MiraclesofMitch.org/newyears.
This family gala event will feature a dinner and program hosted by KARE 11's Eric Perkins, auctions and a variety of kids' activities, including bingo, arts and crafts, and video games. In addition, everyone will dance to the sounds of CBO (Casablanca Orchestra), playing everything from the Swinging '40s to today's Top 40.

Basil/Blood Orange Vinaigrette
1 cup basil oil
1 tsp chopped shallots
½ cup blood orange juice
½ cup Champagne vinegar
Salt and pepper to taste
Place every thing but the oil in bowl or blender. Slowly drizzle oil in while mixing.
Recipe for basil oil
1 cup basil leaves
1 cup olive oil
Pinch of salt; be careful not to put too much in
Bring a small pot filled with water to boil. Blanch the basil for 30 seconds. Stir so all parts of the leave hit the hot water. Drain and shock in cold water. Then squeeze the leaves to remove all the water. Place basil and oil in blend and puree.
Wedges of blood oranges
Shrimp, scallops or lobster is a nice addition
Mix all together and add vinaigrette.
