Cookbook writer Brenda Langton has just the answer for you. Langton stopped by KARE 11 News Saturday with a recipe that's both tasty and healthy.
1 small banana
3/4 cup soy milk or rice milk
3 tablespoons cooked rice, oatmeal or ground flax seed
1/2 cup apple juice
1/2 cup ice
A pinch of salt unless using cooked grain (there will be salt in the grain.
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend.
A touch of honey can be added if it is too sour.
Substitute peaches, berries and more.
