Mpls pair determined to bring message to Peter Fonda

MINNEAPOLIS --  All it took was the right wrong address.

The meaning was written all over it, a fan letter to the actor Peter Fonda addressed adorably, horribly never got to Mr. Fonda, but it did wind up in the hands of Minneapolis journalist and documentary filmmaker Janelle Sorenson.

"The letter itself looks like it's travelled the country a couple of times in hopes of finding Peter Fonda in Hollywood, California," Melany Joy Beck said, Sorenson's partner said.

Sorenson brought the unopened letter home, showed it to Beck and almost immediately the two knew their fate was sealed.

"As soon as I saw it I was just like you know what this means don't you?" Beck said she asked Sorenson.

It means Beck and Sorenson, come this weekend are becoming couriers.

Taking a cue from Fonda's iconic film Easy Rider the ladies are hitting Route 66 to get the letter to Peter Fonda by next week on his 71st birthday.

"I am very excited to meet him," Sorenson said laughing.

The pair plans to document this journey and make a film called Bring It To Peter.

Actually connecting with the Hollywood star will be a task, as is funding the filmmaking.

"We have a few days, not even three full days to raise 1000 dollars," Sorenson said.

The duo is taking pledges on the artists' website Kickstarter.

"We don't have a studio behind us and don't have any kind of funding so we are going grassroots and appealing to people and inspiring people the way we were inspired by the letter," Beck said.

It is part Fonda and Hopper, part Thelma and Louise and part daring to dream.

So look out Hollywood and heads up Mr. Fonda because you've got mail.
