WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. -- Police are searching for a suspect after two customers were injured in the armed robbery of a White Bear Lake convenience store Wednesday.

The suspect entered the Super America store on the 3200 block of White Bear Avenue just before 8:30 p.m. and displayed a hand gun. Police say at one point he fired a shot inside the store. Two customers who were inside the store suffered minor cuts from broken glass. Both refused medical assistance.

The suspect then fled on foot. The Minnesota State Patrol helicopter and Ramsey County Deputies helped search for the man but came up empty.

Investigators are checking to see if the incident is connected to any other robberies in the area. A White Bear Lake Police Captain says there were two armed robberies in the city last November. One suspect was arrested. Police are still seeking a second suspect.

They are also looking into whether the suspect may be responsible for other robberies across the metro.
