ST. PAUL, Minn. -- In the wake of a large winter storm that's hitting the Twin Cities metro area, the City of St. Paul has declared a snow emergency.

That snow emergency will go into effect at 9 p.m. Sunday, when all night routes will be plowed. Starting at 8 a.m. Monday, all day routes will be plowed. All vehicles must be off city streets, otherwise they are subject to tickets and/or tows.

Parking is banned until the snow has been plowed curb to curb. For complete information, call 651-266-7569 or visit the City of St. Paul's web site.

Visit kare11's snow emergency page for complete information on snow emergencies posted across the metro area.

The City of Minneapolis, on the other hand, is not. City officials say with forecasts expecting more snow overnight, residents should check on Monday for more updated information.

City officials said that with more snow expected, they've decided to wait until the snowfall ends to decide if a snow emergency should be declared.

Winter parking restrictions, however, remain in effect.

Minneapolis declared a Snow Emergency late Monday morning.
