Snow brings out winter fun

MINNEAPOLIS -- Theodore Wirth Park was packed Monday with people who escaped the warm indoors to enjoy the cold winter outdoors.

With a fresh foot of snow and President's Day many were free to play in the snow. From the hills, to the slopes, to the lakes Minnesotans were out doing what they do best: enjoy winter.

"This is Minnesota. You got to get out and enjoy it. It's a beautiful day," Wayne Wallace, who took his sons ice fishing on Medicine Lake on Monday, said.

Afton Alps also saw a busy day despite snow packed roads. A spokesperson said nearly 3,000 people hit the slopes.
