Classroom in the ballpark with the Minnesota Twins

MINNEAPOLIS -- This spring students can say "take me out the ballpark" and learn a little something while they are there. The Minnesota Twins and KARE 11 are teaming up for another season of Classroom in the ballpark games.

Classroom in the ballpark features a series of curriculum days where students learn about a dedicated topic and enjoy a Twins game. This year's curriculum days include:

  • Weather Day - Join KARE 11's meteorologists to learn about the science of weather. Weather Day will be May 11. For information contact
  • Math Days - A day that mixes math lessons for grades 3-5 with elements of that day's Twins game. Math Days will be April 13 and 28, and May 11 and 25. For information contact
  • Reading Days - A day that combines grade-specific reading and writing curriculum with that day's Twins game. Reading Days will be April 13 and 28, and May 11 and 25. For information contact
  • Spanish Class/Club Night - Students put their classroom lessons to work with various Spanish language materials, including a baseball quiz. Spanish Night will be April 26. For information contact
  • Kids Health & Fitness Day - Prior to the game, Twins trainers/fitness professionals discuss the importance of eating healthy and exercising regularly. Kids Health & Fitness Day will be May 25. For information contact
  • Physics Day - A day that includes a curriculum and activities developed by physics educators and experienced by students at Target Field. Physics Day will be April 28. For information contact
  • School Patrol Days - Say "thank you" to your student-volunteers with a day at Target Field. Each student will receive a certificate of recognition bearing the signature of Twins Manager Ron Gardenhire. For information contact
