    • MAPLE GROVE, Minn. -- It appears that Christi Rowan is no longer the girlfriend of Denny Hecker. She's now his wife.

    A marriage certificate that was filed in Hennepin County shows that Hecker and Rowan got married on Feb. 22. The certificate shows the pair were married at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Maple Grove.

    Rowan was arrested the next day after visiting Hecker at the Sherburne County Jail after authorities learned she had violated terms of her release.

    The Hennepin County Attorney's Office confirms it is reviewing the marriage for any civil or criminal violations. Sources say it was a "marriage by proxy" done over the telephone. Both are currently in the Sherburne County Jail.

    Marriage by proxy is not legal in Minnesota

    Rowan is awaiting sentencing on fraud charges, and Hecker has already been sentenced to 10 years in prison on federal fraud charges.
