MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnesota State Patrol says a woman delivered a baby on the side of Interstate 394 at Penn Avenue Tuesday morning.
According to Hennepin County Medical Center spokeswoman Christine Hill, Jabania Sanchez was on her way to the hospital with her sister-in-law when they had to pull over.
"I just had the urge to push. So she was calling 911 as we pulled over and the next think you know he was coming out," said Sanchez.
The baby boy was delivered at about 9:45 a.m. An ambulance arrived after the birth and took the woman to HCMC.
Enzi Herrera weighed 8 pounds, 3 ounces and was 20 inches long. It's the mother's second child.
Sanchez and Enzi are said to be doing just fine.
