BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- A teenager is alive thanks to the efforts of a Twin Cities nurse, who pulled him from the bottom of a Bloomington Hotel pool.
Police tell KARE 11 the incident happened around 11 a.m. Thursday at the Bloomington Sheraton. The boy, who was visiting with his family from out of state, apparently slipped, fell into the pool and hit his head.
Witnesses say the teen was underwater for a few minutes before a nurse who was also in the pool area saw him and pulled the boy to the surface. She then performed CPR until the teen regained consciousness.
By the time paramedics arrived the boy was conscious and was able to answer questions from first responders.
Police say what happened was an accident, and no further investigation is needed.
