MOUNDSVIEW, Minn. -- A major Twin Cities medical manufacturer will lay off at least 270 employees this week as part of a planned restructuring effort.
Medtronic Spokesperson Brian Henry confirmed the layoffs, but would not say what division or part of the company those job cuts would come from.
Henry did emphasize that the layoffs are part of Medtronic's larger restructuring plan that was announced in February. At that time the company said up to two thousand positions would be shed due to sluggish sales of its implants.
The Minneapolis-based medical manufacturer employs 41,000 people across the globe.
