HOPKINS, Minn. -- The Minnesota State Patrol believes a medical condition may have caused a driver to lose control of his vehicle Thursday and land upside down in a pond off Highway 169 and Minnetonka Boulevard in Hopkins.

State Patrol Spokesman Lieutenant Eric Roeske says two witnesses saw the driver careen into the water, which is near the bottom of an on-ramp.

Those witnesses pulled the 39-year-old man out of the water and he was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center. At this point there is no word on the driver's condition, but no serious injuries are reported.
