MINNEAPOLIS -- The last time Minnesotans saw Paul McCartney play outside at a ballpark was when he came to old Met Stadium with the Beatles in August of 1965.

Mr. McCartney is about to change that. On Monday word leaked that he will play a show at Target Field on September 1st as part of a tour of American ballparks.

Sir Paul will open his tour by playing Yankee Stadium on July 15th. He will also play shows at Comerica Park in Detroit, Wrigley Field in Chicago, and Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati.

Details on tickets are forthcoming.

When contacted late Monday morning the Minnesota Twins said they could not comment on or confirm reports of a McCartney concert at Target Field.
